When blood osmolarity increases, the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone mechanism is inhibited (decreased aldosterone secretion), which ultimately decreases sodium reabsorption.  When blood osmolarity decreases, the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone mechanism is stimulated (increased aldosterone secretion), which ultimately increases sodium reabsorption.
